Osiris' in Egyptian Hieroglyphics

Osiris

Osiris (Ὄσιρις) was the Egyptian god of the dead-the afterlife and the Underworld.

He was depicted with green skin which symbolizes rebirth.

In the ancient Egyptian language Osiris is Wasir also known as Asar,Usir,Aser and many other variants.

His name was written with three symbols-a place,an eye and a sitting god.The symbol for place is read as ws .The eye as 'ir and the god sign is determinative and it is not read.

We cannot be sure which vowels existed between these consonant and that is the reason why so many variants of the name exist.
